The Sunset Marquis Hotel and Villas is
a continuing success since Raleigh first
built it in 1963 and was the first to
pioneer the "all-suites" concept. Three and
one-half acres surrounds this famous hotel
and lush gardens complete with koi ponds.
Situated In the heart of the entertainment
capital. West Hollywood, the Sunset Marquis
Hotel and Villas serves as a secret hideaway
for artistic celebrities and senior
corporate executives alike. A multi-million
dollar renovation was completed in 2002.
Raleigh is in the process of finalizing
plans for a significant expansion to the
hotel on adjoining property to ensure it
remains on the cutting edge of the
hospitality industry in this century.Over the years, Raleigh has owned, operated,
developed and renovated a number of hotels.

required major renovation of their physical
facilities to bring them to the high
standard level of Raleigh quality.
These hotel properties Include: The W Los
Angeles - Westwood was originally built as a
student dormitory adjacent to UCLA. After
passing through several owners, this
distressed property was purchased by Raleigh
In 1977 and renamed the Westwood Marquis
Hotel & Gardens. A renovation and
refurbishment of the building and the
addition of extensive gardens made The
Westwood Marquis an Internationally renowned
hostelry. In 1996, Raleigh contributed this
asset to a joint venture with Starwood
Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
In 1983 Raleigh purchased the Bradford
Austin Hotel, which stands a short walk away
from the State Capitol Building of Texas.
Raleigh renovated this historic building
before reopening the hotel under its
original appellation: The Stephen F. Austin
Hotel. Raleigh's efforts rescued the
adulation of the entire City of Austin.
Raleigh sold this property in 1997.
Perhaps Raleigh's most impressive hotel
rehabilitation was that of the renowned
Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado, in 1985.
The complete renovation of this famous
landmark had to be completed within a
nine-month window. Through a Herculean
round-the-clock effort. Raleigh was able to
return the hotel to its original Victorian
splendor in record time.
